George Windell Howard, 85, passed away on Wednesday, July 13, 2022. He was born December 18, 1936. Windell was a hardworking man who loved to hunt, fish, and make a garden. He retired from Monroe after 22 years of working.
Windell was preceded in death by his wife, Caroline Howard; parents, Brodie and Lillian Howard; son, George Howard, Jr.; brother, Max Howard; sister, Joy Fisher; and infant sister, Sherrie Lynn Howard.
Survivors include his son, Rodney Howard; daughters, Kellie Howard, Hanah (Charlie) Smith; sister, Fayrene Kieffner grandchildren, Neil Howard, Andrea Howard, Haylie James, Eli and Bryce Smith; several nieces and nephews; and special family friends, Ellie Fleshman and the Huddle House girls.
The family will receive friends on Monday, July 18, from 12:00 p.m. until service time at Phillips Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home with Tim Wooldridge officiating. Burial will follow at Mountain Home Cemetery.

Butch Fisher, Rodney Howard, Keith Wright, Verlon Wright, Bryan Wright, and Brandon Thompson will serve as pallbearers.
