Glenda Ruth (Reeves) Vick was born on September 2, 1946, in Pumpkin Center, Arkansas, to Lonie and Pauline (Smith) Reeves. She went to sleep and went on to wake up in the presence of angels on November 8, 2022. She was a faithful Christian, sister, mother, grandma and friend. She loved to garden and can with her mom, to embroidery and make quilts, to read, and travel. She attended Walcott Church of Christ. She passed away on her favorite brother's birthday. She worked for her family business drilling water wells. She would be seen wearing her big floppy straw hat and her headband.
She left the following family on Earth in hopes of being united with them in Heaven: Sandy Vick, daughter; Jeff Vick (Daronda), son; Kenna McCormick (Andrew) and Kord McCormick (Adrian), grandchildren; Jakob Groves, honorary grandson; Sue Pillow (Charley), Connie Gray (Randy), Tammy Birmingham (Darrell) , and James Ronnie Reeves (Susie), sisters and brother; Diane Barnhill (James), Janet Goebel, Janis Partlow (Charlie), Doris Hendrix, Mabel Crossno (Wayne), Emmett Vick, Charlie Vick, and Susie Vick Adams, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; several cousins and dear friends.
Those who left before her were: mother and father, Lonie (1998) and Pauline Reeves (2014); husband, Roger Vick (2012); son, Kevin Vick (10-10-2020); father and mother-in-law, Clyde(2009) and Ellen (1989) Vick; nephews, Nathan James Reeves (2018) and Joshua Birmingham (1983); her beloved dog, Girl; and other family members.
The family will receive friends Friday, November 11, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Saturday, November 12, at 1:00 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home with Raymond Lasley officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Bucky Beasley, Rodney Eaker, Brad Gray, Zachary Birmingham, DJ Shipman, Nick Crossno, and John Van Brocklin. Terry Agee, Jerry Agee, Aiden Reeves, Luke Shipman, Corey Pillow, Michael Van Brocklin, Bodie Brewer, Cap Brewer, Hudson Davison, and Layne Shipman will be honorary pallbearers.
Lasting memorials may be made to the St. Jude Children's Hospital.
