IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Harlie Edward
Thacker
July 9, 1945 – March 20, 2025
Harlie Edward Thacker, age 79, of Paragould, Arkansas, passed away on March 20, 2025, in Stamps, Arkansas. Born on July 9, 1945, Harlie grew up in Paragould, where he honed the skills and interests that would define his rich and varied life.
Harlie was known for his love of the outdoors, a passion that was evident to all who knew him. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, finding solace and joy in the natural beauty of Arkansas's rivers and forests. Harlie's fascination with the past was reflected in his hobby as an arrowhead hunter, where he spent countless hours searching for these historical artifacts, each find connecting him to the ancient history of his beloved homeland. In addition to his outdoor pursuits, Harlie was also a dedicated coin collector.
Harlie's hands were rarely still, for he was a talented carpenter, welder, and truck driver. His reputation as a jack of all trades was well-earned, as there was hardly a task he couldn't tackle or a problem he couldn't solve. Professionally, Harlie was as reliable and hardworking as they come. Whether he was crafting beautiful woodwork, joining metals with precision, or navigating the roads with his truck, he took great pride in his work.
Among his many joys was the simple pleasure of enjoying McDonald's with his friends. These regular gatherings were filled with laughter and the sharing of life's small moments. Harlie's presence was a warm and comforting constant in the lives of those who were fortunate enough to call him a friend.
Harlie was preceded in death by his parents, Glendon and Marie Thacker and his brother, Arlie Thacker.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Carletta Thacker; son, Heath Thacker; daughter, Heather Holt (Marty Matthews); brothers, Jerry Thacker (Debbie) and Clifford Thacker; sisters, Brenda Pankey, Darlene Thacker, and Dora Arant; grandchildren, Gunner Jamison, Kaitlyn Jamison, Morgan Matthews, Colton Johnson, Garrett Johnson, and Payton Thacker; and great-grandchildren, Zoey Jamison, Kylen Jamison, Carter Johnson, and Archer Johnson.
