Herschel Emmert passed away on July 14, 2026 at his home in Paragould, Arkansas. Born on July 9, 1949, to Herschel and Pearl Emmert in Paragould, Arkansas.
Herschel retired after working 40 years at Emerson Electric. He also served in Vietnam as a Marine and was proud of his service. Herschel was a member of the Southside Community Church for many years and his involvement in church activities never wavered. He loved teaching classes and helped with the celebrate recovery program at the church.
More than any other accomplishments, Herschel was a good father and grandfather to all his kids and grandchildren. In his spare time, he greatly enjoyed playing golf.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Herschel and Pearl Emmert.
Herschel is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Donna Emmert; daughters, Holly Copeland (Josh) of Paragould, April Emmert of Paragould, Rachel Hughes (Chris) of Paragould, and Lora Laubach (Craig) of Paragould; grandchildren, Whitney Lenderman (Patrick), Payton Laubach (Genesis), Drew Laubach, Emma Copeland, Isaac & Alex Hughes, and Tate Ryan; and great-granddaughter, Maeve Laubach.
The family will receive friends Friday, July 17, from 10:00 a.m. until service time at Southside Community Church. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. at Southside Community Church with Charles Stoddard and Pat Graham officiating. All services are under the care of Phillips Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Linwood Cemetery.
Tate Ryan, Isaac Hughes, Alex Hughes, Payton Laubach, Drew Laubach, and Chris Hughes will serve as pallbearers. The Crusader Class will serve as Hershel’s honorary pallbearers.
Lasting memorials may be made to Southside Community Church and/or Open Hearts Ministries.
