Hershel Jay Robinson, 89 of Paragould passed away December 8, 2011 at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro. He was born May 30, 1922 in Goobertown to the late Gilbert and Linnie Robinson. He was a member of Lafe Baptist Church.Preceding him in death were his parents and two brothers, Jack and Jim Robinson.He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Ruby Robinson; one son and daughter-in-law, Curtis and Kathy Robinson of Jonesboro; two brothers, John R. and Joseph Robinson both of Paragould; three sisters, Wava Hollis, Wanda Downs and Wilma Horn all of Paragould; grandchildren Dara and Brad Williams of Brookland and Scottie and Felicia Robinson of Jonesboro; two great-grandchildren, Anthony Robinson and Rebecca Williams.The family will receive friends 6-8 PM, Sunday, December 11, 2011 at Phillips Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10 AM, Monday, December 12, 2011 in the Center Hill Chapel at Phillips Funeral Home with Allen Newell and David Poe officiating. Burial will follow at Linwood Cemetery.Serving as pallbearers will be Dara Williams, Anthony Robinson, Scottie Robinson, Brad Williams, Gary McCord and Diane Mitchell. Felix Tate and the men of Lafe Baptist Church will serve as honorary pallbearers.
