Jacquetta Sue Hammon, 79 years old, was born on October 8,1943 in San Rafael, California and called to be with her Lord Jesus on Monday June 26, 2023. She was cared for at home by her loving and devoted husband during her illness.
Sue joined the U.S. Navy after graduating from Greene County in May of 1961. After serving four years in the Navy, she returned home to Paragould, Arkansas married and started a family in 1967. She graduated from LPN school in 1970, followed by graduating from Arkansas State University as a Registered Nurse in 1977, retiring in 2010 after a 40-year career in nursing.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Frankie L. Hammon Sr. of Paragould; her children Lee Todd Hammon of Paragould, Ian Ross (Dana) Hammon of Paragould; grandson Tristen Chase Hammon of Paragould; two step-grandchildren Felicia LaDon Hammon, and Owen Christopher Hammon. She is also survived by John and Jane (Cox) Adams of Tacoma, Washington; Kay Brown of Pocahontas, Arkansas; Robin Cox of Paragould, Arkansas; Judy Hart of Paragould, Arkansas; and stepbrother Jeff Lee Gramling of Ocala, Florida. She was preceded in death by parents: Ollie Cox Sr. and Earline Cox Sipes, two brothers: Buddy Cox, and Jimmy Cox, and stepson: Frankie L. Hammon Jr.
Sue regularly attended Brown's Chapel Church with her husband. She enjoyed friends, traveling, and Mondays with the girls. Sue was most happy at reunions, holidays and any event where family was nearby.
Services will be held on Saturday July 1, 2023, at Brown's Chapel Baptist Church in Paragould, Arkansas. Family service will begin at 9:00 am followed public visitation at 10:00 am and concluding with the funeral at 11:00 am.
