James Collin Harris, 45, passed away Monday, Feb. 24, 2025, peacefully at home in Paragould.
James was born Wednesday, Sept. 5, 1979, in Paragould to Eddie and Susan Harris.
James was a gifted and highly respected electrician. He was a loyal Razorbacks and St. Louis Cardinals fan, loved live music, enjoyed time spent near any body of water, and cherished time with family and friends, especially his daughter, Leah Lynn Harris. He was a devoted father, son, brother, and friend to many. He was an unapologetic Democrat.
He is preceded in death by his paternal grandpa, J.B. Harris; maternal grandparents, Wallace and Ruby Abercrombie-McColloch; and step-grandfather, Jack McColloch.
He is survived by his loving daughter, Leah Lynn Harris and her longtime partner, Damien Smallmon, who James loved like a son; parents, Eddie and Susan Harris; brother, Waylon Harris and partner, Heather Foley, and her son, Jacksen Foley; ex-wife and friend, Christie Harris; grandma, Louise Harris; dear friends, Anthony Halcomb and Kyle Crabtree and their families; his once-feral, cancer-ridden, sometimes-loving Norwegian Forest Cat, Titter; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and strangers he hasn't yet met.
Honored to serve as pallbearers will be Waylon Harris, Damien Smallmon, Anthony Halcomb, Kyle Crabtree, Jake Moore, and Richie Ermert.
Visitation will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at Phillips Funeral Home, with funeral services following at noon. James' childhood friend, Jacob Lynn, senior pastor at Cabot United Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will follow in Greene County Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, James would have preferred donations and gifts be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
