James Robert Kersey, 71, of Paragould, passed away June 14, 2014 at his residence. He was born in Beech Grove, Arkansas October 22, 1942 to the late Richard and Mattie Kersey. James was very good at designing and building things and was a member of Grace United General Baptist church where he was a deacon for over 30 years.Preceding him in death were his parents; one brother, Orville Kersey; one sister, Emmie Pitcher; and one granddaughter, Brianna Kersey.Survivors include his wife, Marcy Anne Kersey; one son, Mark Robert Kersey; one daughter, Anna Teresa Clark; two brothers, Melvin and Ray Kersey; two sisters, Rossetta Gray and Minnie Brewer; and four grandchildren, Hunter Easley, Austin Easley, Katelyn Kersey and Jenna Kersey.The family will receive friends tomorrow, June 16, from 6:00 -8:00 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 17, in the Center Hill Chapel of Phillips Funeral Home with Royce Schanda and Donnie Slatton officiating. Burial will follow in Brown's Chapel Cemetery.
