James Leo Yearry, age 79, of Paragould, passed away Friday, September 13, 2019, at Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro, Arkansas. He was born October 22, 1939, in Lake City, Arkansas, and was a member of the Center Hill Church of Christ since 1965. He worked at Emerson Electric for 17 years and then was owner and manager of D & L Enterprises, Inc. He enjoyed fishing and swimming as well as growing peaches, apples, and blueberries, flying a private airplane, riding a motorcycle, being a Ham Radio Operator and loved playing with his grandkids.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Yearry of the home; one son, Dempsey (Melinda) Yearry of Kansas City, Missouri, two daughters, Jeanina (Emmett) Smith and Judith (Bill) Tripp, both of Paragould. Also surviving is one sister, Shirley Padilla of Brookland, Arkansas, and one brother, Allan (Judy) Yearry of Benton, Arkansas. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, Emily Chaffin, Allison Smith, Collin Yearry, Katie Vaught, Jenna Williams, Camille Jolibois, Claire Smith, and Daniel Tripp; nine great-grandchildren, Sophie, George, Olivia, Brody, Maddox, Cadence, Jude, Owen, and Dean.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Berkley and Minnie Yearry, and one sister, Ruby Pillow.
Visitation will be Monday from 11 a.m. until service time at Phillips Funeral Home. Services will begin at 1 p.m., also at Phillips Funeral Home with Michael Meredith officiating. Burial will follow at Greene County Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Collin Yearry, Daniel Tripp, Greg Vaught, Luke Smith, Creagan Williams, and Jacob Jolibois.
