James Louis Parks, 68, of Paragould, passed away on Sunday, January 22, 2023. He was born October 16, 1954. James was a huge fan of the Alabama Crimson Tide and his favorite saying was "Roll Tide." He did casino construction and was a very funny and loving person.

James was preceded in death by his father, Louis Parks; stepfather, Sid Kent; stepson, Lloyd Hogue; and stepdaughter, Teresa Cook.

Survivors include his wife of 14 years, Emily Parks; mother, Margaret Kent; stepsons, Carl Hogue, Tony Whitford; daughter, Marci Daniels; sisters, Cindy Parks, Deandra Sanchez; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 26, from 12:00 p.m. until service time at Phillips Funeral. The funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home with Larry McFadden officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery.

Carl Hogue, Tony Whitford, Gauge Hogue, Lloyd Hogue, Thomas Cook, and Maliki Hogue will serve as pallbearers.
