James "Curly" Leroy McKinney, affectionately known as Curly, passed away peacefully on September 6, 2023. Born on November 7, 1945, James lived a vibrant and fulfilling life, leaving behind a legacy of love, and a deep appreciation for the outdoors and technology.

James was born to the late Marion and Goldie McKinney, growing up in a lively and loving household alongside his siblings. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Linda (Gilmore) McKinney, his brother Eugene McKinney, and his sisters Doris Bailey and Sylvia Smith.

James is survived by his son Jimmy Lloyd McKinney, brothers Doyle (Brittie) McKinney of Loves Park, IL, Orland (Marcella) McKinney of Trinidad, TX, and William (Kathy) McKinney of Paragould, AR. His sisters Melba Wood, of Paragould, AR, Darlene Crabtree of Coleman, TX, Marlene Hale of West Plaines, MO, and Charolet (Harold) Kinnel of Trumann, AR, brother-in-law Gerald Smith, of Trumann, AR sister-in-law Shirley McKinney, of Lubbock, TX. He leaves behind a large and loving family, including his stepchildren, Dena, Tina, Leah, and Larry Lynn, several step-grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

James was a man of many passions and interests. He had an unquenchable love for the outdoors, often spending his free time exploring nature's beauty. He also had a keen interest in technology, frequently seen playing games on his laptop, keeping his mind sharp and his spirits high. James was a member of the Lunsford Baptist Church.

James's family will receive friends at Phillips Funeral Home, Monday September 11, 2023, from 6:00p.m. until service time at 7:00p.m. with Brother Doke and Tyler Bailey officiating.
