James Harvey Poole, born on May 4, 1962, in Sarasota, Florida, passed away on June 20, 2026, in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Known dearly by family and friends as “Grover,” James lived a fulfilling life marked by hard work, devotion to loved ones, and a vibrant sense of humor.
From a young age, James stood out for his athletic abilities, excelling in basketball and track at Delaplaine High School. These formative experiences built the foundation for the perseverance and determination that would define him throughout his life.
James pursued a career as a farmer, dedicating countless hours to the land he loved. His diligence and commitment to his work were evident to all who knew him, earning him a reputation as a truly hardworking man. There was rarely a moment when James wasn’t outside, whether fishing, hunting, or tending to the farm. His connection to nature and joy in outdoor pursuits brought him contentment and shaped many cherished memories.
Family was always at the center of James’s world. He was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, and friend whose warmth and care left a lasting impact. To his grandchildren, he was fondly known as “Grandpa Tractor” — a nickname that brought laughter to their hearts.
James’s legacy is defined not only by his achievements and hard work but also by his comical personality. His quick wit and capacity to bring joy to others made every gathering brighter, and those who spent time in his company will remember the laughter and lightheartedness he brought into their lives.
