Jeffery “Jeff” Wayne Smith, 61, passed away on August 26, 2026. Born on April 23, 1965, Jeff lived a life marked by hard work, curiosity, and a deep appreciation for the world around him. He graduated from Stanford High School in 1984 and went on to build a long and steady career. Jeff worked at Emerson Electric for 28 years and later at Tenneco for 11 years.

Outside of work, Jeff found joy in simple and meaningful pleasures. He loved to watch deer and travel, taking in both the quiet beauty of nature and the experiences that came with seeing new places. He was also known as someone who tinkered with everything, always ready to figure something out with his hands and his mind. Jeff was at times called by his nickname “Rosy” by his Emerson co-workers. That spirit of curiosity and determination was a memorable part of who he was.

Jeff was preceded in death by his father, Jimmy Smith; grandparents, Ephraim and Dorothy Smith, Bennie Rogers and Lawanda Jones; mother of his children, Donna Dacus Smith.

Jeff is survived by his loving wife, Sandra Smith; mother, Brenda Smith; son, Logan Blake Smith of Nashville, TN; daughter Alyssa Hooker (Josh) of Paragould, AR; sisters and brothers-in-law, Shelia Carter (Andrew) and Lesa Condray (Gary) of Mountain Home; and grandson, Denver Lee Brown; and several nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held on Monday, August 31, from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 31, at 12:00 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home with Sean Sullivan officiating. Burial will follow at old Bethel Cemetery.

Andrew Carter, Ronnie Slatton, Gary Condray, William Orr, Curtis Carter, Lance Liddell will serve as pallbearers. Bill Orr and Terry Rogers will serve as honorary pallbearers.
