Jerry Bass Burton passed away on Saturday, June 24, 2023, at the age of 79. He was born September 8, 1943, to John Bass and Emmaleen Elizabeth Burton in Greene County, Arkansas.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Archaleen Downs, Norma Gramling Cornelison; and stepson, Kerry Henson.

Survivors include his wife, Sandra, they were together for 54 years; sister, Floretta Bowlin; nieces, Shelia Evans, Sherry Rackley, Jamie Gibson; nephew, Keith Downs; stepdaughters, Leah Russell Batson, Robin Hamm; step granddaughter, Heather Denise Russell; and many extended family and friends.

Jerry served in the National Guard and in 1969 went to work for the Arkansas Highway Department. He retired after 36 years of service. He was a member of Antioch Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends Saturday, August 19, from 11:00 a.m. until service time at Phillips Funeral Home.  The memorial service will begin at 11:30 a.m. at Phillips Funeral Home with Bro. Larry Ring officiating.
