Jerry Don Shipman, 72, of Paragould, passed away Wednesday, May 10, 2017.  He was born April 1, 1945, in Paragould, to the late Allen and Imadell Shipman.  Jerry was a member of the First United Pentecostal Church.  During his 8 years as a foster parent, he fostered 325 children.  Jerry loved God, his family, and giving back to others, especially children.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Tonya Yeargain; and sister, Sharon Parker.

Survivors include his wife, Brenda Shipman; sons, Todd Shipman, Tracy Shipman, Kaileb Shipman, Luis Thigpen, Wesley Shipman, and Cameron Shipman; daughters, Jeri Banks, Emily Shipman, Lily Shipman, Sonia Thigpen, Maria Trujillo, and Candace Shipman; brothers, Larry Shipman, Roger Shipman, Steve Shipman, Britt Shipman, Kevin Shipman, and Robin Shipman; sisters, Shelby Hyde and Kathy Humphrey; 7 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Saturday, May 13, from 4:00 p.m. until service time at Phillips Funeral Home.  The funeral service will begin at 6:00 p.m. in the Center Hill Chapel of Phillips Funeral Home with James Warbington and Joey Ethridge officiating.
