Obituary

Jimmy Lester Cooper, 80, of Memphis passed away September 18, 2016. He was born December 28, 1935 in Beech Grove to the late Lester and Mary Ruth Cooper. Jimmy was a 1955 graduate of Stanford High School, sang with the Saved by Grace Quartet, loved singing gospel music at the Cross Creek FWB Church, liked to deer hunt and play pranks and delighted in scaring his wife and kids. He had an old Dodge Ram diesel he called Old Whitey.


He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Emma Lee Cooper, of the home: two daughters and sons-in-law, Robin Dee and Thomas White of Memphis and Paula Kay and David McGinnis of Mars, PA; two sisters, Carolyn DeMent and Brenda McCall; four grandchildren, Brian White, David White, Rachel Batson and Seth King and two great-grandchildren, Launa White and Ethan White.


There will be a grave side service at Greene County Memorial Gardens Wednesday, September 21, 2016 viewing from 9:30 – 10:00 am with services beginning at 10:00 am with Rev. Paul Bryant officiating.
