Jimmy E. Sims, 83, of Paragould, passed away Sunday, June 25, 2017.  He was born August 15, 1933, in Paragould, to Ezra and Lora Sims.  Jimmy was a cotton ginner for Bertig Company.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, James E. "Sonny" Sims; daughter, Carol Annett Sims; grandson, James Patrick Sims; brother, Randal Sims; sister, Betty Blankenship; and nephew, Jerry Jack Sims.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, JoAnn Sims; brother and sister in law, Jerry and Laverne Sims; sister, Mary Alice Farrell; grandchildren, Mary Simpson and her husband, Jeremy, Joseph Sims, Tony and Whitney; great grandchildren, Cayne and Aryanna Simpson, Shae Lynn Sims, Traedyn and Abigail.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, June 28, from noon until service time at Phillips Funeral Home.  The funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. in the Center Hill Chapel of Phillips Funeral Home.  Burial will follow at Linwood Cemetery.
