Joe Perry Collier, known affectionately as Joe to his friends and family, passed away on August 23, 2025, at the age of 69. Born on January 29, 1956, Joe's life was marked by his infectious love for cars, music, and people. His warm presence and good sense of humor were a beacon of light that drew others to him, and his deep Christian faith provided a foundation of love and kindness that he shared generously with everyone he met.
Joe's passion for cars was more than a hobby; it was a way of life. Joe's love for music was just as profound. He had an eclectic taste that ranged from classic rock to soulful gospel.
Above all, Joe loved people. He never met a stranger and had the rare ability to make everyone feel like they were the most important person in the room. His friendly demeanor and genuine interest in others' lives built a community of friends who cherished his company and wisdom. Joe's good sense of humor was a gift that he shared freely, brightening the days of those around him with laughter and light-heartedness.
As a devout Christian, Joe's faith was the cornerstone of his existence. He lived his beliefs through his actions, always extending a helping hand and a listening ear.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Emil and Ina Mae Collier and brothers, Robert Collier and Max Collier.
Survivors include his wife, Patty Collier of Paragould; two beloved dogs, Josie and Maggie Mae; son, Tye Granger of Paragould; daughter, Debra Lynn of Paragould; family friends, Cheryl Holt and Dennis Ballard of Memphis; sister, Karla Braun of Paragould; brothers, Jerry Collier (Annie) of Roseburg, Oregon, Michael Collier (Paula) of Indio, California, Mark Collier (Terrie) of Henderson, Nevada; and nephews, Chad Braun and Tom Collier.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 27 from 1:00 p.m. until service time at Phillips Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home with Rev. Danny Murphy officiating. Burial will follow at Old Bethel Cemetery.
Dennis Ballard, John Ballard, James Mayo, Mike Allgeier, Chad Braun, and Tye Granger will serve as pallbearers.
