On Tuesday, July 15, 2025, John Reams Garrett Jr. of Paragould passed away at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House at age 64. Born in Richmond, Virginia, John was a fighter and bravely fought cancer not once, but twice in his life. He was a dedicated family man, a hard worker, and well-liked by all who knew him. His incredible sense of humor lifted up others, and he will be missed very much.

He was preceded in death by his wife Sharon Metallo Garrett, his father John Reams Garrett Sr., and his sister Tammy Garrett.

He is survived by his daughters Madison and Macey Garrett, his mother Evelyn Chandler, his sisters Darlene and Gail Garrett, his brother Danny Garrett, and his many members of his extended family in Virginia.

Services for John Garrett will be held at Finch Baptist Church (3797 Greene 715 Road in Paragould) on Thursday, July 31st at 6 pm.
