John Henry McDaniel, 92, of Jonesboro, passed away December 3, 2015 at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House. He was born April 17, 1923 in Schugtown, Arkansas to the late John R. and Lorene McDaniel. A 7th and Mueller Church of Christ member for 66 years, Mr. McDaniel was also an Elder for 30 years. A Veteran, Mr. McDaniel was a sergeant in the 712th  Tank Battalion during World War II. He was a graduate of Arkansas State University with a business degree. He was also an active member, and past President, of the Paragould Lions Club for 60 years.  Mr. McDaniel was the manager of Paragould City and Water for 25 years and Board of Trustees member at the Children's Homes. He was also a past president of the Arkansas State Engineers Association.

Preceding him in death were his parents; wife, Bonnie McDaniel; sister, Edna Dickerson; brother, George McDaniel

Survivors include sons and daughters in law, Kent and Barbara McDaniel, and Craig and Cindy McDaniel, all of Jonesboro;  two brothers, Major McDaniel and Larry McDaniel; one sister, Wilma Nelms; Grandchildren, Kyle, Cory, Von, Lindy, and  Macy McDaniel, Lauren Teague; great grandchildren, Lilah, Harriet, Evegale McDaniel.

The family will receive friends Monday, December 7, 2015 from 10:00 – 12:00 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow the visitation at noon in the Center Hill Chapel of Phillips Funeral Home with Kent and Craig McDaniel officiating. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery.
