Johnny Lavon Simons, loving father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 17, 2023, in Jonesboro, Arkansas, at the age of 83. Born on December 7, 1939, in Brookland, Arkansas, Johnny was the son of the late Elmer John and Margaret Elizabeth Simons.

Johnny is survived by his four children, Brandon (Veronica) Simons, Steve (Tabitha) Simons, Marina (Lonnie) McKenzie, and Kristin (Jesse) Setzer. He was a proud grandfather to seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He is also survived by his siblings, Lloyd (Francis) Simons, Myrtle Boling, and Pat Gosset, and was preceded in death by his sister, Claira House.

A dedicated Army veteran, Johnny served his country with honor and bravery. His strong work ethic and commitment to service were evident in all aspects of his life.

As a loving father and father-in-law, Johnny was known for his kindness, caring nature, and generosity. He had a unique ability to make anyone laugh and brought joy to those around him. His warmth and humor will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Johnny had a passion for reading. He also loved eating at the Huddle House, where he enjoyed the food and camaraderie with fellow patrons.
