Joseph Darrell Clayton, 72, of Marmaduke passed away Monday, August 3, 2015 at his residence. He was born December 23, 1942 at Marmaduke to Noah and Rachel Clayton. Darrell served 24 years in the United States Army.
Preceding him in death were his parents; son, Nelson Clayton; infant daughter, Connie Jean Clayton; brothers, Jerry, Bill and Randy Clayton; sister, Kathy Wheat; and granddaughter, Makayla Bartlett.
Survivors include his wife of 31 years, Bonnie Clayton of the home; sons, Joey Clayton of South Carolina, Anthony Clayton of Tennessee, and Allen Carey and his wife, Lou, of Marmaduke; daughters, Patricia Holifield and her husband, Phillip, of Piggott, Rebecca Buchanan and her husband, Paul, of Tennessee, Tanya Warren of Rector, and Melody Brady and her husband, Heath, of Marmaduke; brothers, George and David Clayton; sisters, Barbara Carpenter, Linda Travis, Mary Rasberry, Peggy Sutherland, and Lesa Taylor; and lots of grandchildren.
The family will receive friends 6:00p.m. to 8:00p.m. Tuesday, August 4, 2015, at Phillips Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10:00a.m. Wednesday, August 5, 2015 in the Center Hill Chapel of Phillips Funeral Home with Josh Carpenter officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Harvey's Chapel Cemetery.
Darrell's nephews will serve as pallbearers.
