Joyce Ann Jeter, aged 81, passed away peacefully on March 16, 2025. Born on August 30, 1943, to Jessie and Ellen Travis. She was known for her warm spirit and her hands that were never idle. Joyce's passion for sewing and quilting was matched only by her love for reading. She crafted countless quilts that warmed the lives of many, weaving threads of love and care into every pattern. Her bookshelves were a testament to her unquenchable thirst for knowledge and the joy she found in the pages of a good book.

Joyce is preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Chester Stanton Travis and Glen Travis.

Survivors include her sons, Phillip Jeter and Alan Jeter (Pam); sister, Jessica Austin; brothers, Mabern Travis, Dwight Travis, Joe Travis, Jessie Travis and Omar Travis; grandchildren, Joshua, Amanda, Alexandra, Whitney, and Matthew; and eight great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, March 19, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Phillips Funeral Home. A procession will leave Phillips Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. for a graveside service at Harvey's Chapel Cemetery.
