John Daniel Taylor, JR., 82, of Paragould passed away Saturday, October 08, 2011.  He was born June 26, 1929 in Jonesboro to John D. and Edith Minton Taylor.  John retired as a Master Sergeant from the U.S. Air Force after 20 years of service.  He then taught school for 18 years and  later went to Nigeria to teach in a Christian school.  He was a loving husband and father who was willing to help anyone in need.Preceding him in death were his parents;  and one sister, Ada Upton.He is survived by his wife, Dorris Vaughn Taylor ; 3 sons, David (Laufrain) Taylor of Greenwood, AR, Leslie (Cheri) Taylor and Mark (Ronda) Taylor both of Paragould;  3 daughters, LaVonne Taylor of West Memphis, AR, Kina (Roger) Knight of Paragould, and Edie (Stan) Hall of Jonesboro, AR; 3 brothers, Bill Taylor, Dale Taylor both of Jonesboro, and Freddy Taylor of Sierra Vista, AZ; 14 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and 4 foster children, April Gadson, Johnny, Danny, and Elisa Compton.Family will receive friends from 10-11 am on Tuesday, October 11 at Gainesville Church of Christ.  The funeral service will begin at 11am with Topper Killough and Chad Wagner officiating.  Burial will begin at 3pm at Old Enterprise Cemetery near Jonesboro.The family will serve as pallbearers.Lasting memorials can be made to the Paragould Children's Home or Gainesville Church of Christ Missions.
