Obituary

Julia Ann Smith, 76, of Paragould, entered into the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Friday, July 15, 2022. She was born on December 5, 1945, to the late Earl and Claris "Jewell" Rowland. Julia loved The Lord and was a member of Fairview Baptist Church of Paragould. Julia was a graduate of Imperial Valley College. She retired after 25 years of being a loan officer in El Centro and Imperial, California.
She is preceded in death by her son, Mark Eugene Reed.
She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Edgar Smith, Sr.; her pride and joy were her kids, Rhonda (Kenney) Phillips of Paragould, Robin (Tony) Phillips of Moscow Mills, MO; her beloved German Shephard, Rocky Von; four grandchildren, Andrea Hooks (Jason) of Salem, AR, Amanda Johnson (Seth) of Doniphan, MO, Kalee Gaines (Jacob) of Paragould, Miranda Phillips-Ricker (DJ) of Paragould; and great-grandchildren, Jacob Hooks, Connor Hooks, Foster Johnson, Oliver Johnson, River Gaines, Lynden Johnson, and Brinley Gaines.
Julia was loved deeply by her family and the mold will forever be broken until we meet again.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 21, from 12:00 p.m. until service time at Phillips Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home with Pastor Dennis Strope and DJ Ricker officiating. Burial will follow at Greene County Memorial Gardens.
DJ Ricker, Seth Johnson, Matthew Johnson, Joe Reed, JW Rawls, Billy Redden, and Foster Johnson will serve as pallbearers. Kenney Phillips will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
