Obituary

Karen Bryson, a cherished soul passed away peacefully on February 23, 2025, at the age of 81. Born on July 6, 1943, in Paragould, the same town she would lovingly call home for her entire life, Karen's presence was a constant source of warmth and joy to all who knew her.

Karen's early life set the stage for a journey filled with deep relationships and cherished memories. The love story between Karen and her late husband, Richard Bryson, was one for the ages. She was a devoted daughter to the late Weldon and Martha Jean McDaniel; loving sister to the late Stan McDaniel, Teresa Foster, and Serena Fulkerson; and mother to her beloved daughter, the late Nikki Hedge. Karen also had any nieces and nephews that passed away before her.

Karen's journey through life was marked by the deep bonds she formed with her beloved family. She is survived by her devoted daughter and son-in-law, Paige and Larry Potter; her sisters, Debbie and LaDonna; her treasured grandchildren, Shane, Brandon, Justin, Felicia, and Jordan; and her adoring nine great-grandchildren, who affectionately knew her as "Ya Ya." Her legacy continued to grow with the arrival of her great-great-grandson.

After a fulfilling career at Monroe, where she was known for her strong work ethic and kind-hearted nature, Karen retired and discovered a passion that would define her golden years. She found a talent for painting that she had never known she possessed. Many of her beautiful creations were displayed at Bonanza, a local restaurant, where they were admired by patrons.
Karen's artistic eye was not limited to the canvas; she took great pleasure in capturing the rustic beauty of old barns through her photography. Her images, much like her paintings, were a testament to her ability to find and celebrate the beauty in the often-overlooked corners of the world.

A fan of the excitement of NASCAR, Karen found joy in the roar of engines and the thrill of the race. Her enthusiasm for the sport was infectious, and she could often be found cheering on her favorite drivers surrounded by brother and sisters, who shared in her passion.

Karen's life was a beautiful tapestry woven with love, creativity, and a zest for life that inspired everyone around her. Her legacy is not only in the art she left behind, but in the memories etched in the hearts of those who loved her. Her kind spirit, her laughter, and the stories she shared will continue to resonate with her family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to cross paths with her.
