Kathy Janeice Allred, 72, of Brookland, passed away on Thursday, March 16, 2023. She was born June 18, 1950, to Robert Davis and Hazel Goff. Kathy spent early years traveling with Larry as a military spouse. They lived in Texas, Virginia, Germany, and visited Mexico often. She was an award-winning author, editor of the A- State Herald, and went on to pen 11 award winning novels.  Kathy loved to sing and was very passionate for reading and writing.

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents; great grandparents, Ruth and Cecil Sandefer; siblings, Benny Davis, Rick Davis, and Patricia Bateman.

Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Larry Allred; sons, Justin (Jamae) Allred, Jeremy Allred; daughter, Amy (Rodney) Williams; brothers, Mark (Kimberly) Davis, and Leon (Virginia) Goff; grandchildren, Sara Lucas, Tyler Lucas, Coleman Allred, Samuel Lucas, and Nicolas Williams; and three great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Monday, March 20, 2023 from 5:00p.m. until 7:00p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home. The funeral service will be on Tuesday March 21, at 10:00a.m. with Sean Sullivan officiating. Burial will follow at Liberty Cemetery.
