Katie Thomason, 87, of Paragould, passed away Friday, March 11, 2022. She was born August 9, 1934, to Ode and Martha Hatcher. Katie was a wonderful mother, wife, and an even better grandmother. She was loving and caring in her personal life and professional nursing career.  She was the epitome of virtue and grace.  Katie was a faithful and committed Christian since her teenage years and a member of Union Central Church of Christ.

Katie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James "Jim" Thomason; brothers, Demp Hatcher, Leon Hatcher, Jessie Hatcher; and sister, Alidean Campbell.

Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Ann and Chester Morten, Kathy and Scotty Hickson; grandchildren, Clint and Mari Morten, Ginger and Evan Smith, Jennifer and Dustin Hedge, Brooke and Andy Hoskins, Nathan and Madison Hickson, Noah Hickson, and Lindsey Hickson; great-grandchildren, Ali, Cassie, Gabby, Mikayla, Caleb, Kateleigh, Kyler, Macklyn, Linnik, Graham, and Mason.

The family will receive friends Sunday, March 13, from 1:00 p.m. until service time at Union Central Church of Christ. The funeral service under the direction of Phillips Funeral Home will begin at 2:00 p.m. at Union Central Church of Christ with Evan Smith and Scotty Hickson officiating. Burial will follow at Harvey's Chapel Cemetery.

Clint Morten, Chester Morten, Scotty Hickson, Dustin Hedge, Evan Smith, and Caleb Smith will serve as pallbearers.
