Kenneth Ray Claxton, 86, passed away on October 31, 2026. He was born on September 24, 1940.

Kenneth was a hardworking man who spent his working years as a factory employee at Harvester. He was someone who enjoyed staying busy and took pride in what he could do with his hands. Outside of work, he found happiness in working in his yard, building things, and spending time outdoors. He loved being outside, and those simple pleasures were an important part of his life.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Harpole Claxton; by his parents, Merval and Hazel Claxton; by his sisters, Martha Robertson and Barbara Gross; and brother-in-law, John Robert "Bob" McElroy.

Kenneth is survived by his sisters, Deloris McElroy, Verneda Claxton, and Merlene Claxton Mullins. He is also survived by his nieces, Sherry Claxton, Marsha Gibson, and Sonya Russell, and by his nephew, Steve Claxton; and many other nieces and nephews. He will be remembered with love by his family and by those who knew him.

Kenneth’s life was marked by hard work, a love of the outdoors, and the satisfaction of building and caring for the things around him. His memory will remain in the hearts of his family.

There will be a private burial held at Mt. Zion Cemetery.
