Leonard Wesley Nelson, 84, of Paragould, passed away Friday, June 11, 2021.  He was born July 7, 1936, to Allen and Edna Nelson in Williford, Arkansas.  Leonard retired from the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department July 1, 1997, after 41 years of service.  He was a Mason.  Leonard attended 7th and Mueller Church of Christ and was a lifelong Church of Christ member.

Leonard was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Linda (Nall) Nelson; brothers, Bufford and Tom Nelson; and great granddaughter, Emma Lenderman.

Survivors include his son and daughter in law, Brad and Rose Nelson of Marmaduke; daughter and son in law, Cindy and Larry Burton of Paragould; brothers, James and Bill Nelson; grandchildren, Cory and Carla Burton, Ashley Lenderman, and Wesley Ann Nelson; and great grandchildren, Abby Lenderman, Chloe Burton, and Charley Burton.

The family will receive friends Friday, June 18, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at 7th and Mueller Church of Christ in the family room.  A celebration of Leonard's life will begin at 6:00 p.m. at 7th and Mueller Church of Christ in the family room.
