Letha Dale “Lee” Walls, 92, of Gulfport, Mississippi, passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home on May 1, 2026.
Born on August 19, 1933, in Kennett, Missouri, Lee was the daughter of Lawrence Dale Holsten and Marvelene McElyea Blazier. She was raised in Kennett, where she spent her early years before beginning a life centered on faith, family, and devotion to those she loved.
On March 4, 1952, she married the love of her life, Bill Walls. Together they shared nearly 73 years of marriage before his passing on January 10, 2025. As an Air Force wife, Lee faithfully supported her husband through the many moves that military life required. After traveling throughout the years, they made their home in Camden, Arkansas, later relocating to Pass Christian, Mississippi following Bill’s retirement. After losing their home to Hurricane Katrina, they moved to Paragould, Arkansas, where they became members of West View Baptist Church. In August of 2024, Lee and Bill moved to Gulfport, Mississippi due to health concerns.
Lee was a devoted Christian who loved the Lord and lived her life as an example of quiet faith, strength, and unconditional love. Her favorite Bible verse was Hebrews 11:1 (NIV): “Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.”
Her greatest joy was her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother who was affectionately known simply as “Mom” by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, a reflection of the deep love and comfort she gave so freely. She loved her family more than anything and treasured every moment spent with them.
She is survived by her daughter, Nancee Malenfant and husband Mark; her son, Alan Walls and wife Virginia; her grandchildren, Chris Pigage and wife Tiffany, Craig Walls, Christina Burrow and husband Peter, and Ashley Brummett and husband Shawn; her great-grandchildren, Blake Pigage, Hailey Pigage, Christian Walls, Owen Burrow, Elaine Burrow, Ethan Burrow, and Ella Brummett; and her great-great-granddaughter, Emery Pigage.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bill Walls, and by her parents, Lawrence Dale Holsten and Marvelene McElyea Blazier.
The family will receive friends Saturday, May 9 from 9:00 a.m. until service time at Phillips Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, at Phillips Funeral Home in Paragould, Arkansas, with Marc Reeves officiating. Burial will follow at Lulu Cemetery in Senath, Missouri.
Lee’s legacy of faith, love, and devotion to her family will live on in all who knew and loved her.
