Liddie Casteel Breckenridge Moore, of Paragould, passed away on Thursday, October 1, 2026, in Jonesboro, at the age of 83. She was born on July 21, 1943, in Corning, Arkansas.
Liddie will be remembered as a kind woman who loved people and carried a smile on her face. Her faith was central to her life, and she was a Christian servant who loved God. She found joy in the simple and meaningful things of life, especially cooking, gardening and flower gardening, reading, and fishing. Those who knew her will remember the warmth she brought to others and the gentle spirit with which she lived each day.
She leaves behind a loving family who will carry her memory forward. Liddie is survived by her daughters, McKenzee Meeker, Madison Moore, Melissa Milam, Lora Moore Bell, and Cheryl Wayland; her brothers, Jerry Casteel (Doris) and Rick Hollis; her sisters, Mary Breckenridge, Debbie Sims (Butch), and Connie Baxley (Tom); her grandchildren, Cody Lane and Miranda Rose; her great-grandchildren, Alexis Rose, Alyssa Rose, Jace Lane, Haven Lane, Gabby Lane; and her great-great-granddaughter, Aurora Moore; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mervil Casteel and Juanita Hollis; her son, John Breckenridge, Jr.; her sister, Shirley McIlvoy; and her brother, Harold Hollis.
Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation on Monday, October 5, from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 12:00 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home with Art Smith and Evan Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Linwood Cemetery.
Cody Lane, Jace Lane, Tanner Moore, Chad McIlvoy, Cash McIlvoy, and Cam McIlvoy will serve as pallbearers. Butch Sims will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
Liddie’s life was marked by faith, kindness, and a ready smile. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the blessing of knowing her.
