Linda Darlene Brady, went to her heavenly home on Sunday, September 20, 2020. She was born December 31, 1948, to Carvin and Lillie Whelchel. While traveling through this world, Linda was a lady full of life and spirit. She laughed easily and was always up to having fun. Linda really never felt like she had much worth, but she was in fact a priceless gift to her family. She was so talented in the home and never faulted in her duties as a wife and mother. Some of Linda's favorite things were babies and young children, long drives, beautiful flowers, and vibrant colors of leaves changing in the fall. On any given day, she could be seen cooking and dancing in the kitchen, but on Sunday's, she would be singing in church and napping on the couch. She was selfless in ways most would never understand. Linda had integrity and grit, and drew the strength she needed to fight battles from the Lord. She will be forever missed by family and friends.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Mark Anthony Whelchel; and nephews, Jeffery Todd Adams and Larry Douglas Lewis.
Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Bobby Wayne Brady; son, Michael Wayne Brady; daughters, Tammy Darlene Brady, and Tena Diane Ames (Phillip); brothers, Butch Whelchel (Glenda), Carl Donald Whelchel (Debbie), and Timothy James Whelchel (Jackie); sister, Teresa Marie Duke (Donald); and a host of family and friends.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 23, from 12:00 p.m. until service time at Phillips Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home with Mike Chadwick, Eddie Gene Wright, and Brian Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
Brad Whelchel, Chad Adams, Harold Small, Scott Small, Gene Small, Lionel Dodd, and Joseph Dodd will serve as pallbearers.
