Marvin Exum, 75, of Paragould went to his Heavenly Home Thursday, May 28, 2015.  He was born September 24, 1939 at Paragould to George and Ersa Exum.  Marvin was a 32nd degree Mason.  He was a founding member of the Western Greene County Fire Department and served on the board for 10 years.  He retired after 39 years of service at Emerson Electric.  After retirement, he served on the Detention Review Board and was on the commission for Arkansas Rural Development.  Marvin was a master chef who enjoyed catering.  He attended Light Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Merline Osborn.

Survivors include his loving wife of 43 years, Jean Kennemore Exum, of the home; son and daughter in law, Michael and April Exum of Paragould; daughter and son in law, Ersula and Michael Bruner of Paragould; brothers, Paul, Forrest, Dillman, Truman, David, and Calvin Exum; sisters, Maggie Smith, Maxine Beeler, Joyce Cunningham, and Georgia Adams; grandchildren, Christian, Gracelyn, and Cameron Bruner, Jayden and Kaleb Exum.

The family will receive friends 4:00p.m. to 8:00p.m. Sunday, May 31, 2015 at Phillips Funeral Home.  The funeral service will be Monday, June 1, 2015 at 10:00a.m. in the Center Hill Chapel of Phillips Funeral Home with Courtney Schmidt and Bryan Exum officiating.  Burial will follow at Union Grove Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Ramey Lovan, Terry Joe Smith, Derek Exum, Ronnie Exum, Jamie Exum, and Brad Smith.  Honorary pallbearers will be all nieces and nephews, grandchildren, Fred Greer, and Billy Michael Waldon.
