Mary Eunice Langley Smith, 83, passed from this life on Sunday, October 26, 2014 at her home in Paragould, AR. She was born August 29, 1931 in Dallas County, Arkansas to the late Donald Jackson and Mary Norene Hunter Langley. Mary was a devoted Christian, wife, mother, and grandmother; a retired teacher; and a member of the Walcott Church of Christ.In addition to her parents Mary was preceded in death by one grandson, Corey Wells.Survivors include her husband of 61 years, D.R. Smith, of the home; one daughter, Kay Wells and her husband, Steve, of Ravenden, AR; two sons, Monte Smith and his wife, Debbie, of Paragould and Steve Smith and his wife, Valerie, of Kennett, MO; six grandchildren, Casey Wells and his wife, Carrie, Krista Springfield, and her husband, John, Jake Smith, Kirsten Johnson, Ashley Detweiler and her husband, Jason, and Angie Smith; six great grandchildren, Olivia, Keely, Kyler, Keegan, Kohlton, and Korynne Jane; one brother, Robert Langley of Monticello, AR; as well as numerous other relatives and friends.Friends and family may gather at Phillips Funeral Home at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, October 29, 2014 to join the procession to the graveside service at the Dail Cemetery at Ravenden, AR. The graveside service will begin at 3:00 with Harrell Austin officiating. The songs will be led by Mary's grandson, Casey Wells.The grandsons and nephews will serve as pallbearers.Lasting memorials may be made to the Children's Homes of Paragould.
