Mary Sue Jones, a cherished soul known for her boundless love and infectious joy, passed away on January 24, 2025, in Paragould, Arkansas. Born on October 11, 1957, in Flint, Michigan, Mary's warmth and kindness touched the lives of all who had the pleasure of knowing her throughout her 67 years.
Mary's career at Hays in the meat department was more than a job; it was an opportunity for Mary to connect with people, serving her customers not just with quality service but with a genuine smile and a listening ear that many came to rely on.
Mary's love extended far beyond the reaches of her work. She was a beacon of light in her community, treating everyone she met as family. Her belief that there was no such thing as a stranger, only friends yet to be made, endeared her to countless hearts.
A lover of life's simple pleasures, Mary found joy in the winter's first snow, seeing it as nature's invitation to pause and appreciate the world's quiet beauty. Her passion for karaoke revealed her zest for life and love for music. Those who had the chance to hear her sing will fondly remember her spirited performances.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Louie Jones; and daughters, Misty Jones and Becky Moore.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Chad and Heather Franklin; daughters and sons-in-law, Amanda Mears, Tiffany and Dennis Beavers, Lacy Bright, April and Buddy Butler; brother, Steve Franklin; sisters, Shirley Layton (Robert) and Deborah Striedl; grandchildren, Kara Love, Cheyenne Love, Alonah Clayton (Chase), Kaden Stucker, Kahleb Franklin, Taylor Szwabowski (Greg), Bryce Mears (Misty), Kyle Hazelwood (Kaylie), Madison Beavers (Cody), Dixie Beavers, Aiden Davis, Dallas Bright (Darius), Bobby Bright, Trinity Bright, Ciera Butler, Abby Butler, Ethan Butler, and Oliver Butler; and 15 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Thursday, January 30, from 10:00 a.m. until the service time at Phillips Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. at Phillips Funeral Home with Buddy Butler officiating. Burial will follow at Meadow Grove Cemetery in Beech Grove.
Aiden Davis, Kahleb Franklin, Kyle Hazelwood, Robbie Layton, Sandy Nedelman, Rick Rollings, Ethan Butler, and Orlan Mears will serve as pallbearers. Chase Clayton, Jeff Cline, Ed Collier and Perry Simmons will serve as honorary pallbearers.
