Matthew Harold Geiss, born on February 24, 1958, passed away on May 7, 2026. He was a man of dedication, passion, and warmth, whose presence touched the lives of many.

Matthew proudly served as a Marine for 11 years, exemplifying commitment and honor throughout his military career. His devotion extended beyond service, as he cherished the simple joys of life with equal zeal. A gifted griller and barbecue enthusiast, Matthew delighted in preparing meals that brought family and friends together. His love for the outdoors was evident in his fondness for fishing, camping, swimming, and traveling, activities through which he found peace and adventure.

Family meant the world to Matthew, and he held a special place in his heart for his "furry kids," whom he adored deeply. He was an ardent supporter of the Oregon Ducks football team, a passion that highlighted his spirited and competitive nature.

Matthew was preceded in death by his parents, Matthew Peter and Anna Marie Geiss.

Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Robin Geiss; sons, Timothy John Geiss, Sean Michael Geiss (Sarah), Brian James Geiss (Maddie); sister, Tara Ann Geiss; and twelve grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Friday, May 15, from 12:00 p.m. until service time at Phillips Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home with Greg Cozad officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Greene County Memorial Gardens.
