Mel Hudspeth, 97, of Lafe, passed away on Wednesday, December 13, 2023. He was born November 24, 1926, to Claude and Cindy Hudspeth. Mel was a member of Lafe Baptist Church for over 30 years. He loved attending church and loved his church family dearly. He loved his cows, hunting, and enjoyed spending time with his family.

Mel was preceded in death by his wife, Imogene Hudspeth; parents; son, James Hudspeth, Jr.; brothers and sisters; and grandson, Bryce Hudspeth.

Survivors include his sons, Ron (Tina) Hudspeth, Steve (Christie) Hudspeth; eleven grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 17, from 1:00p.m.-3:00p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home. The service will be Monday, December 18, at 10:00a.m. at Phillips Funeral Home with David Poe officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Log Cemetery.

Jeremy Hudspeth, Ron Hudspeth, Jr., Jake Hudspeth, Andrew Heuck, Allan Newell, And Willie Reed will serve as pallbearers.
