Obituary

Michael Lynn Fowler, of Brookland, Arkansas, passed away on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, in Brookland at the age of 66. He was born on February 18, 1960, in Tupelo, Mississippi.

Michael will be remembered as a loving father and grandfather whose life was centered on family. One of his greatest gifts was the care and devotion he gave to those he loved, and he raised his grandchildren as if they were his own children. His family was his proudest accomplishment, and that love was evident in the way he lived each day.

He worked at Rains Rock Quarry in Harrison, Arkansas, where he spent his career as a heavy equipment operator until his retirement. Outside of work, Michael found joy in the things he loved most. He loved trucks and classic vehicles, and he was happiest outdoors, whether working on his tractor, riding the 4-wheeler, or building something with his own hands. During the years he lived in Harrison, he had a farm where he raised chickens, pigs, and goats, and he especially loved tending his large garden. In his younger years, he also enjoyed fishing and hunting.

Michael is survived by his daughters, Kimberly Holley, Stephanie Fowler, and Crystal Shown; by his grandchildren, Caston Holley, Jaden Holley, Tymothy Fowler, Madison Croft, Matthew Croft, and Mia Croft; and five great-grandchildren. The bond he shared with his children and grandchildren was a defining part of his life, and his love, guidance, and steady presence will be deeply missed and long cherished.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Fowler; his parents, Jimmy Lee “Buck” and Hazel Juanita Fowler; his brother, Jimmy Fowler; and his sisters, Jackie Hester and Betty Stults.

Visitation will be held on Monday, September 21, from 2:00 p.m. until service time at Phillips Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will follow at 3:00 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home.
