Obituary

Nancy Lynn (Johnson) Damron passed away on October 10, 2026, in Brookland, Arkansas, at the age of 72. She was born on October 22, 1953, in Paragould, Arkansas, and will be remembered as a woman whose life was marked by faith, kindness, and devotion to others.

Nancy worked as a rural letter carrier for the United States Postal Service, a role that reflected her steady nature and her connection to the people around her. She was a caregiver at heart and a selfless person who loved doing for others. She had a way of taking everyone under her wing, offering care, conversation, and encouragement in a manner that made others feel welcome and valued.

She was loved by many and was known for loving to talk, sharing her warmth easily with friends, family, and all who crossed her path. Nancy was very religious and attended First Assembly of God in Brookland, where her faith was an important part of her life. Among her greatest joys was the deep love she had for her grandchildren, who held a special place in her heart.

Nancy is survived by her daughter, Terri Damron; her brothers, Charlie Johnson (Carolyn) and Roger Johnson (Janet); her sisters, Kay Whitley (Art), Cheryl Conn, and Shelia McClish (Tim); her grandchildren, McKenzie Damron, Rylan Lashua, and Blake Randall; and her dog, Raven. She leaves behind a family who knew her love, her generosity, and the steady presence she brought into their lives. Her memory will remain a lasting blessing to those who were fortunate enough to know her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Mary Alice Johnson; her brothers, Gary Johnson, Larry Johnson, Johnny Johnson, and George Johnson; her brother-in-law, Fred Conn; her nephews, Benny Conn and Craig Michael Johnson; and her niece, Jennifer Johnson.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 14, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home with Tom Newman officiating. Burial will follow at Shiloh Cemetery.
