Nicholas (Nick) Carter, 67, passed away Sunday, August 1, 2021, at his home. He was born December 2, 1953, in Nimmons, Arkansas, to Reo and Lorene Carter. Nick worked at Glen Sain Ford for 36 years. He was an avid hunter, loved fishing, and adored his grandchildren.
Nick was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Bill Carter and Ricky Carter; and a sister-in-law, Lou Carter.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Barbara, of the home; his children, Nicole (Danny) Graham of Paragould and Nicholas Carter of Paragould; two grandchildren, Maddux Graham and Carter Graham of Paragould. He is also survived by brothers, Clifton (Margie) Carter of Marmaduke, Bobby Carter of Marmaduke, Gary (Judy) Carter of Marmaduke, Donnie (Brenda) Carter of Mountain Home, Roger Carter and Greg Bailey of Jonesboro, and Lucky (Shyla) Carter of Paragould, one sister, Patsy (Calvin) Merrell of Rector; aunt, Dorothy Strickland; sister in law, Joella Carter; and a host of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Thursday, August 5, from 9:00 a.m. until service time at Marmaduke First Baptist Church. The funeral service will begin at 10:00 a.m. at Marmaduke First Baptist Church with Kim Bridges officiating. Burial will follow at Harvey's Chapel Cemetery.
Adam Husky, Deryl Martin, John Jarrett, Cliff Carter, Zach Carter, and Elijah Carter will serve as pallbearers. Jason Halley, Danny Graham, Roger Poteet, and Wayne Eddings will serve as honorary pallbearers.
