Ozella Dimple (Medsker) Harris was born on June 19th, 1940 in Beech Grove, Arkansas to Admiral (Dewey) and Fronie Lee Medsker. She was the last child of eight, and she was spoiled rotten by her own admission. She is survived by her children, Sheila (Jody) Faulkner, Marty (Shelley) Harris, Todd (Vanessa) Harris, and Tony (Brandi) Harris, all of Paragould, and one brother, Major Medsker of Jacksonville, Florida, 12 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandsons. She was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband, Joseph Edward (JE) Harris, to whom she was married to for 61 years; and her siblings, Arvil (Chuck) Medsker, Berley (Boots) Medsker, Lester (Red) Medsker, Lonie Wilson, Leo Medsker, and Robert (Rod) Medsker.
According to her grandchildren, she could do anything and she loved her family BIG! She was always cutting up and doing something silly. And the grandkids loved her. Her grandkids said that she made the most amazing chocolate cake. She cherished family get togethers, where she welcomed up to 40 family members in her home, and was very disappointed when someone couldn't make it. Until she was diagnosed with cancer about 6 months ago, she enjoyed a long healthy energetic life. She lived alone, mowed her own yard, grew beautiful flowers, raised her goats and cared for her fur baby Bella, which she treated like one of her children.
She served her community by serving on the Finch Cemetery committee, managing the Finch community building and working the Election Polls for many years. She worked in many different jobs and loved each one, they included Ely Walker Shirt Factory, Arkla Products, she opened and managed 2 restaurants, 2 grocery stores, and a small store called Finch Treasures. She also worked at Lantern and Ignited Bookstores, and took care of the elderly in a local nursing home.
Ozella was saved at an early age in the church at Beech Grove and was baptized in the creek by the church. She was a member of the Lake Street Baptist Church and lovingly called Ms "O." She loved working with the children's program and was loved by everyone, because of her gentle nature and sweet smile.
Ozella passed away on October 10, 2026 at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 13th, from 5:00 - 7:00 pm at Phillips Funeral Home in Paragould Arkansas. The funeral service will be on Wednesday, October 14th, at 10:00 am, with Jody Faulkner officiating. Burial will follow at Finch Cemetery.
Pallbearers include Shane McDaniel, Ryan Harris, Brandon Harris, Talon Harris, Kegan Harris, Tucker Harris, and Storm Harris.
