Patsy Ann (Hewlett) Howe passed away on October 30, 2026, in Morganfield, Kentucky. She was born on March 30, 1940, in Oak Grove, Louisiana.
Patsy will be remembered as a loving family woman whose life was expressed in the care she gave to those around her. She was a talented seamstress who made all of her daughter’s clothes while she was growing up, and her skill and devotion were woven into everyday family life. She was also a marvelous cook, enjoyed making ceramics, and was especially proud of her gift as a talented cake decorator. Among the family memories that will be treasured most are the wedding dress she made for her daughter Debbie and the wedding cakes she created for all four of her children.
Her love for family was the center of her life, and that love continues through the many people who were blessed to know her. She is survived by her children, Debbie Rippy, Larry Howe (Sheila), Ronnie Howe (Shona), and David Howe (Christy). She also leaves behind her brothers, Bill Hewlett (Sharon), Jim Hewlett (Beth), and Scott Hewlett (Barbara); her sister, Kay Kepner (Phil); her brother-in-law, Collis Archer; and her sisters-in-law, Ann Howe and Mary Howe.
Patsy’s legacy also lives on in her grandchildren, Tasha Cook (Mike), Amy Klingensmith (Justin), Shawna Boggs (Dane), Heather Howe, Christopher Rippy, Jenny Evans (Jace), Sydney Howe, Andrew Howe, and Payton Howe. She is further survived by her great-grandchildren Gabe Cook, Gracie Cook, Emma Klingensmith, Bella Klingensmith, Analeigh Boggs, Logan Boggs, Cohen Evans, Harrison Evans, and Luna Rippy, as well as her great-great-grandchild, Timberlyn Giesman and Valerie Cook.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin “Baldy” Howe; her parents, Sammie and Mildred Hewlett; her grandson, Tyler Howe; her son-in-law, Bruce Rippy; her sister, Betty Archer; and her brothers Sam Hewlett, Kenneth Hewlett, and Terry Hewlett.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 5, from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home. A procession will leave the funeral home at 12:00 p.m. to go to a graveside service at 12:30 p.m. at Providence Cemetery with David Poe officiating.
Patsy Ann Howe will be remembered with love for the beautiful things she made with her hands, the meals and celebrations she prepared, and the steady devotion she gave her family throughout her life.
