Paul William Ervin passed away on March 3, 2026, at the age of 64. Born on August 29, 1961, in Piggott, Arkansas, Paul was known for his strong work ethic and dedication to his family and friends. A man of faith, he was an active member of the Lost River Cowboy Church, where he found both community and solace. As a heavy equipment operator, he contributed significantly to his field and took great pride in his work.
Family was paramount to Paul, and he cherished the time spent together during family gatherings and road trips. He was particularly fond of the Saturday morning breakfast club at the Huddle House, where laughter and camaraderie were always abundant. Paul had a larger-than-life personality—he was a protector, a country boy at heart, and a hard worker who devoted himself fully to his loved ones. He was also known in his younger years as a wrestler, nicknamed "Leanchman."
Paul is survived by his son, Logun Ervin; daughters, Misty Ervin-Hatcher and her husband Kevin, and Kellie Shawntay Ervin; brothers, Larry Ervin and Thomas Allan Ervin; sisters, Louise Garrett and Mary Robertson; grandchildren, Mark "Andy" Miles, Amber Miles, Emmalina Ervin, Alexander Ervin, and Dylan Gladden; and an abundance of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mervil and Ellen Ervin; his son, Paul "P.J" Ervin Jr.; and his brother, Ray Ervin.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the visitation on March 9, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by a funeral service that will begin at 12:00 PM at Phillips Funeral Home, located at 4904 W Kingshighway, Paragould, Arkansas. Burial will follow at Cantwell Cemetery in Corning.
Logun Ervin, Billy Joe Garrett, Dean Garrett, Kevin Hatcher, Richard Holcomb, and Andy Miles will serve as pallbearers. Dylan Gladden and Gadge Boyd will serve as honorary pallbearers.
