Rita Rose Bass, 87, of Paragould, passed away on Saturday, March 30, 2024. She was born on September 9, 1939, to Ephraim and Mary Fournier.  Rita was a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church. She enjoyed working in her flower beds, and gardening. Rita also enjoyed putting puzzles together and reading in her spare time.

Rita is preceded in death by her parents; first husband of 43 years, Rudy Hanel; second husband of 15 years, Sam Bass; and siblings, Clifford Fournier, Edith Bruett, Viola Sparpana, Wesley Fournier, Isabell Fournier, Arther Fournier, Alice Fournier, and Rose Fournier.

Survivors include her daughters, Lucy (Bryan) Reddick, Lori (Larry) Price, Deanna (Rick) Holt; brothers, Chuck (Judy) Fournier, Dick Fournier; grandchildren, Logan Reddick (Hannah), Luke Reddick (Peyton), Shaenna Taylor (Joseph); and great-grandchildren, Jasmine Taylor, Karah Taylor, Chloe Taylor, Alannah Taylor, and Grady Reddick.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 2, from 10:00 a.m. until service time at Phillips Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. with Kenneth Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Greene County Memorial Gardens.

Logan Reddick, Luke Reddick, Joseph Taylor, Johnny Houston, and John Springle will serve as pallbearers.
