Sally Marie Powers, 73, passed away on Friday, January 21, 2022. She was born October 26, 1948, in Monette, AR, to Joe and Barbara Slayton. Sally loved gardening, cooking, cleaning, and spending time with her family. She always enjoyed fixing herself up.
Sally was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Randal "Randy" Powers; son, Estel "Lee" Simpson; siblings, Bobby Jo Slayton, Robert Lee Slayton, LuLa Vaughn Taylor, Danny Slayton, Mary Miner, and Billy Don Slayton.
Survivors include her son, Michael "Jody" Simpson; daughter and son in law, Cheri and Farion Walker; brothers, David Slayton, Richard Slayton; sister, Elizabeth Bradford; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 25, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Phillips Funeral Home. A procession will leave Phillips Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. for a graveside service at Linwood Cemetery with Michael Hughes officiating.
Mikey Simpson, Michael Hailey, Tommy Hall, Farion Walker, Tim Simpson, and Tyler Wheat will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers include Christopher Simpson, Zach Simpson, Chet Simpson, and Evan Simpson.
