Sharon Kay Nixon, 63, of Paragould, went home to be with the Lord August 9, 2016, at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center. She was born January 18, 1953, in Washington, Missouri, to the late Charles and Anna Tune. Sharon loved the Lord and enjoyed singing worship songs, reading, cooking, sewing, and most of all, spending time with her daughter and three grandkids which brought her great joy. Above all, she loved being a Nana. She was a 1971 graduate of New Haven High School. Sharon married Raymond Nixon on July 31, 1971 in New Haven, Missouri and was baptized on August 28, 1977.
Preceding Mrs. Nixon in death were her parents; husband, Raymond L. Nixon; grandparents, Everett and Tessie Tune, Albert and Loretta Poeschel; brother, Gary Tune; infant sister, Carolyn Tune.
Survivors include her daughter and son in law, Jennifer and Randol Keys; brothers, Michael Tune, Larry Tune, and Terry Tune; sisters and brother in law, Linda and James Kleinheider, Karen Tune and Barbara Floyd; three grandchildren, Sebastian, Crimson, and Cohen Keys; and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
The family will receive friends Saturday, August 13, 2016, from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow the visitation at 2:00 p.m. in the Center Hill Chapel of Phillips Funeral Home with Pastor Carl Friedel officiating. Burial will be at Linwood Cemetery.
