Shawn Patrick Riggs, age 52, was born December 5, 1970, in Arizona and died August 9, 2023, in Jonesboro, Arkansas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin Earl Riggs and Janice Deason Riggs; brother, Dustin Len Riggs; and grandparents, Guilda and Benny Deason and B.E. and Ruth Riggs.

Shawn was a U.S. Army Veteran, proud to serve as a 3rd generation member of the Armed Forces.  Shawn was of Assembly of God faith.

Shawn was known for his mechanical skills and caring heart.  He enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

He is survived by his aunts, Belma Cossey, Mary Smart, and Rhonda Deason; niece, Ashlynn; cousins, Jan, Michi, Kristie, Monty, Kenny, Denice, and Cynthia; step-daughter, Seaaira Ott; and many family and friends.

A memorial service with military honors will be held at Cockrum Cemetery Sunday, August 20, at 2 p.m. with Kenny McMinn officiating.
