Obituary

Steven Duane Davis, born on September 14, 1955, in Watervliet, Michigan, passed away on December 13, 2025, at his home in Oak Grove, Arkansas. Steven, known for his unwavering strength and kind heart, served his country valiantly as a Marine in the Vietnam War. His dedication to duty was matched only by his commitment to the people he loved.

After his honorable service, Steven channeled his discipline and passion into various pursuits. The outdoors provided Steven with an escape, a place where he could find tranquility, and he often engaged in yard work and gardening as a means of relaxation and connection with nature. His lawn was a testament to his diligence and care. His attention to detail was shown in his model car building. He never missed an opportunity to tell a bad joke.

Steven was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Edna Davis; sisters, Mary, Linda, and Sandy; and infant son, Paul Davis.

He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Rose Lee Davis; sons, Steven Davis II, and Jeff Stroud (Alycia), daughter, Amy Jennings (Chris); brother, Mark Davis (Judy); sisters, Teresa Ruble (Keith), and Judi Adams (Larry); grandchildren, Chloe Stroud, Sam Merila, Lolly Barber (Matt), Logan Goad, Dillon Goad, Madi Hyde (Logan), Peyton McClintock; and great-grandson Leo Hyde.

The family will receive friends Saturday, December 20, for a visitation from 2:00 p.m to 4:00 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home.
