Air Force CMS (retired) Teddy Max Mabry was born on December 2, 1936 and passed on May 13, 2026 at home in Paragould, Arkansas. Ted was originally from Lester, Arkansas where he married his Dixie Dragon High School sweetheart, Betty Ryan. The two were married for 51 years before Betty passed in 2006. Ted married Anna Hall in 2010 and spent 16 happy years in marriage.
Ted prided himself on loyalty to his family, his country, and his careers. He spent 22 years in active military duty in the United States Air Force from 1955 until he retired in 1977. He was a highly decorated service member who achieved the highest enlisted rank possible, Chief Master Sergeant. He then retired from his second career at Darling Store Fixtures as a Safety Specialist and Human Resource Manager.
Ted loved to rebuild and collect antique cars and was active in local car clubs and organized numerous charity events. He served on the Paragould Housing Authority Board and the Pine Log Cemetery Board. Ted loved to travel. He and Ann loved their road trip adventures together and were always on the go.
Ted was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Ryan, parents, George & Bess Mabry, two sisters, Dorthy and Juanita, and 3 brothers, George Jr., Burl, and James.
He is survived by his wife, Anna Mabry, his daughter and son-in-law, Teddi & Scott Martin, and his granddaughters, Leslie Megan (Zach) Ballard, and Arin (Kyle) DeRoe and six great grandchildren. Ted was blessed with his second extended family when he married Anna and he loved them dearly. Anna has four children Lori, Lael, Ricky, and Troy (also preceded in death). They have twelve grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
Services will be held on Monday, May 18, 2026 at Phillips Funeral Home in Paragould. Open visitation will be from 12:30-2:00pm. The service will begin at 2:00pm followed by a graveside service at Pine Log Cemetery in Brookland.
